Certification of Arms: Sir Stanley De Astel Calvert Clarke 1890

The auctioneer Busby of Bridport are offering for sale the 1890 Certification of Arms & Pedigree of Stanley De Astel Calvert Clarke on the 21st November 2019.  The Certification was done by Henry Farnham Burke, then Somerset Herald.

The auctioneer’s estimate is £80-£120.

Crest: A bear as in Arms gorged with a Naval Crown Or line reflexed over the back Gules supporting a battleaxe erect proper.

Grant of Arms: Sir Henry Bucknall Betterton Bt 1929

Auctioneers Bearnes Hampton & Littlewood are offering for sale on 4th September 2019 the 1929 Grant of Arms to Sir Henry Bucknall Betterton (1872-1948) and the Letters Patent elevating him to the Dignity of Baron Rushcliffe of Blackfordby.

The auctioneer’s estimate for each document is in the range of £60-£80.

Arms: Argent three pheons Sable on a chief Gules a portcullis chained Or between two cinquefoils ermine.

Crest: Between the attires of a stag Or a pheon Sable.

Motto: Constantia et Labore

Badge: A cinquefoil slipped ermine between two ears of wheat in saltire proper enfiled by a circlet Or.
