Grants of Arms & Badge: Drusilla Marion Elizabeth Armitage 1965 & 1978

Auctioneers Golding Young & Mawer are offering for sale the 1965 Grant of Arms and the 1978 Grant of a Badge to Drusilla Marion Elizabeth Armitage (31st Mar 1929 – 16th Nov 2019) of Westfield Road in the Parish of St Anne in the City of Leicester.  The auction is on the 10th June at Bourne, Lincolnshire.

Drusilla Armitage was a member of the Heraldry Society and the White Lion Society.  The notes attached to her entry at the White Lion Society have the following rationale for her Arms:

“The design is a mixture of Miss Armitage’s father’s arms (Gules, a lion’s head erased between three cross crosslets argent) and those of her mother, who came from the old Leicestershire family of Pochin (Or, a chevron gules between three horseshoes sable).”

Grant of Arms: Frederic John Billing 1992 (Australia)

eBay vendor, nikitacat1carol, is offering for sale the 1992 Grant of Arms to Frederic John Billing of Port Keats in the Victoria River District of the Northern Territory.  He was a longtime member and Secretary of “The Australian Heraldry Society”.  The current asking price is AUS$3,995.00

Dated: 12th August, 1992  “in the forty first year of the reign of Our Sovereign Lady Elizabeth the Second by the Grace of God Queen of Australia…”
