Grant of Arms: Dr John Cochrane Henderson JP MB ChB 1944
The Dutch vendor, Antiquariaat Arine van der Steur, is offering for sale the 1944 Grant of Arms to Dr John Cochrane Henderson JP of St. Andrew’s, Bowness on Windermere (born 10 October 1881 died 5 February 1946). The Grant includes other descendants of his father. The listed price is EUR 1,007.
He was the only son of William Thomson Henderson and Georgina Isabella Waddell Cochrane and had two sisters May Cochrane Henderson and Margaret T Henderson. After his death Probate was granted to his widow Ethel, his widowed sister May and to her daughter Kathleen Margaret McCullum. John and Ethel had no children.
Arms: Azure three piles, on a chief of the last an Aesculapian rod accompanied by two thistles slipped all proper and in base a boar’s head erased of the second.
Crest: A dexter hand erect proper holding up a six pointed star ensigned by a crescent Argent.
Motto: Virtus Nobilitat (Virtue ennobles)
