Grant of Arms: John Evelyn Ansell 1919

Auctioneers Cheffins of Cambridge are offering for sale the 1919 Grant of Arms to John Evelyn Ansell (b.1860 d.1936) of Glenloch Road.  The auction is due to be held 21st February.  There is no auctioneer’s estimate.

John Evelyn Ansell and his wife, Ada Maria, had two children, Enid (b.1897) and Evelyn (b.1898 d.1970).  Evelyn married Mary L S Eaton in 1928 and lived in Cambridge.  They had two daughters, Meryll Carinthia (b.1930) and Rosemary (b.1934).

Grant of Arms: Thomas Ian Robinson of Kilcoy 1969

eBay vendor robnuneaton has recently sold the 1969 Scottish Grant of Arms & Standard to Thomas Ian Robinson of Kilcoy, Baron of Kilcoy.  The sale price was £65.

Arms: 1st & 4th Per chevron Gules and Vert on a chevron Argent between two griffins’ heads erased in chief and a stag trippant in base of the third three mitres Vert garnished Or (for Robinson of Kilcoy)
2nd & 3rd Per chevron Or and Sable two chevronnels engrailed between three griffins’ heads two in chief and one in base all counterchanged (for Warren).

Above the shield is placed on Helm befitting his degree with Mantling Gules doubled Argent and on a chapeau Gules furred Ermine (for his feudal Baron of Kilcoy) is set for
Crest: A stag trippant per pale Argent and Gules attired Gules bearing in its dexter hoof a dagger Sable.
Motto: Facta Non Verba

Standard: The crest is repeated thrice upon a standard four yards in length with the said Arms of Robinson of Kilcoy in the hoist and four tracts Gules and Argent having the motto Fact Non Verba in letters Argent upon two transverse bands Sable.

Grant of Arms: John Vaughan 1813

Exeter based auctioneers Bearnes Hampton & Littlewood are offering for sale the 1813 Grant of Arms to Captain John Vaughan of the 21st Native Infantry in the service of the East India Company in Bengal.  The Grant also extend to his brother Thomas and two sisters, Mary-Anne & Sylvia.  The sale is due on the 6th March and has an auctioneer’s estimate of £80 – £120.

Crest: Out of a crown vallery Or a dexter cubit in armour entwined by a snake proper charged on the wrist with a rose Gules the gauntlet grasping a dagger also proper.
