In December 2015 Dreweatts & Bloomsbury Auctions offered for sale the Grant of Arms to Jean Belmain, a French tutor to King Edward VI and Queen Elizabeth I.
Arms: Azure a chevron Argent engrailed ermine between three bezants Or on each bezant a demi lion rampant Gules [Azure a chevron engrailed ermine between three bezants each charged with a demi lion rampant Gules].
Crest: A griffin’s head Or between two wings Azure bezanty.
Date: 20th November 1552
The Letters Patent also includes a depiction of Sir Gilbert Dethick, Garter Principal King of Arms.
