Royal Licence: James Trimmer to Shotter 1875

Vendor ephemeracity1 is offering for sale on eBay the 1795 Royal Licence for James Trimmer of Farnham, Surrey to take the Name and Arms of Shotter.

Arms: Azure on a chevron Or another chevron Gules charged with three bezant in chief two sheaves each of six arrows interlaced saltierwise Gold flighted and pheon’d Argent in base a bow stringed fesswise of the last.
Crest: A demi lion rampant erminois charged on the shoulder with two arrows saltierwise Gules flighted proper in the paws a slip of oak leaves and acorns also proper.
Dated: 23 December 1795

James Shotter Grantees

James Trimmer was the nephew of the wife of William Shotter of Farnham who left a “Name & Arms” clause in his will.
